April marked the end of my first season of All Star Cheer with Power Athletics. Following our last competition at the One Up Championships in Nashville, we moved right into preseason getting ready for the May 8th tryouts.

Although I am a base, I am mainly the power tumbler for my squad. I really wanted to have better jumps and more power going into my tumble passes for this coming season. I’m so thankful I ordered my cheerFIT DVD back in March! If you don’t have this DVD you really need to order it! It helped me so much preparing!

Monkey Jumps, Calf Raises and Basket Toss Stars, really helped improve my jumps. I’ve increased the strength in my legs and you should see my muscle tone! These moves are also fast passed, which increased my overall endurance. You don’t want to be winded coming out of long tumble passes. Reverse crunches have improved my core strength which any cheerleader needs, but especially this move, because it mimics how you pull your knees up to our chest for tucks. Because I workout on the days I’m not in the gym with my CheerFIT DVD and participated in the weekly #TheStrenghtIsInUs challenges by cheerFIT and Soffe, I was very confident going into tryouts! I breezed through them and am the very proud, youngest member of Power Athletics Senior level 2 and will also be competing Solo this year! You will not regret getting this DVD!

Work hard, set goals for yourselves! If you have already had your tryouts, I hope you put your all into it and you make the team you wanted! If your tryouts are coming up, it’s not too late to put in some extra work! Print out the monthly workouts, participate in the weekly challenges or even better ORDER THE DVD!
