CAN YOU SHARE WITH US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOUR JOURNEY AND HOW YOU GOT TO WHERE YOU ARE TODAY?

I’ve learned that not everything comes easily. Growing up I had a sister who was an all-star cheerleader so my family always knew I would one day be in the sport as well. I started at 2 1/2 at a program named All-Star Legacy in Ashburn, Virginia, which happens to be the same program I’m at now. I had always seemed to enjoy cheerleading. I never seem to be a natural for the sport or anything, I just happen to fall in love with it. At the age of 8, I got the news I wouldn’t be on the same level 4 team as my friends so I decided to try something a little different.

I decided I would try gymnastics at Capital Gymnastics NTC in Burke, Virginia. Now since I was ahead in floor, gymnastics wasn’t the best options. The coach told me to try powertumbling. Being this little 8 year old, my parents thought nothing of it and I continued in both powertumbling and cheerleading. My parents would have never thought I would be where I am today. At the age of 11, not only was I on my 3 year of a level 5 cheer team but I also became an elite tumbler.

In powertumbling I was able to achieve the title of being on the “National Team” for the last 3 seasons and in 2015 I got to compete in Odense, Denmark for World Age Groups. Tumbling means the world to me! I’m been able to push myself pass my limits and try skills I would have never thought were possible in cheer. It’s made me realize to be grateful for everything life gives you. Cheer and tumbling have been amazing experiences and I wouldn’t change it for anything. These last 13 season with legacy and the last 8 with capital will be memories I will never forget. I’m thankful for my family, friends, coaches and programs that have supported me through thick in thin because without them I would never be where I am today.

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS?:

I’m been on the US Junior National Team for powertumbling.
I’ve been on a level 5 cheer team since I was 9.
I’ve been to the Cheerleading worlds for 3 Years. And this will be my 4th.
Last cheer season, my team placed 14th in the senior small divsion.
I’m also 14th in the world for powertumbling.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART ABOUT BEING A CHEERFIT AMBASSADOR?

I love getting to be a role model for all the younger athletes, especially the ones in my gym.

WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO TELL OTHER PEOPLE WHO WANT TO BECOME A CHEERFIT AMBASSADOR?

If you want it, go for it. It will never be easy, but if you keep trying you’ll get it at some point in your journey.

One fun fact that my gym always laughs at is the fact before I started doing Capital I used to be a very bad tumbler. 
Another fun fact is that I’ve never had a mental block on a skill.

CAN YOU SHARE WITH US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOUR JOURNEY AND HOW YOU GOT TO WHERE YOU ARE TODAY?

I am a plus size athlete who may struggle to tumble but my strength has always been my greatest asset. I have always wanted to partner stunt and 3 months ago I asked to take lessons and to my surprise, my gym owners and coach were super supportive of my goals. I have an amazing flyer who trusts me and I am blessed to have continued support from my gym, teammates, and family. 


II have been given a platform to advocate for the larger stronger athlete that is often times overlooked.

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS?:

I have been given the opportunity by Rebel Athletic to be a Rebel Senior Model and be featured as a larger athlete in their campaigns, Gianna and I were able to compete as a Junior Level Stunt Duo and we placed first!!! I am always learning and growing accomplishments happen daily little by little I am reaching my goal.

HOW HAS BEING AN AMBASSADOR HELPED YOU REACH YOUR GOALS?

CHEERFIT has helped me build confidence in myself. It is helping me build core strength making my stunting stronger and helping with endurance.

The sense of community, the love each ambassador has for one another regardless of size.

CAN YOU SHARE WITH US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOUR JOURNEY AND HOW YOU GOT TO WHERE YOU ARE TODAY?

I was born with a complex heart condition, Tetralogy of Fallot. I’ve had open heart surgery and will have at least one more surgery in the future on my pulmonary valve. I share my heart journey on many social media platforms like YouTube and Instagram. I’m a social media ambassador for the American Heart Association. I have never let my heart condition slow me down! I am a level 5 cheerleader and also dance and run cross country. I work hard at home to improve my fitness, endurance and flexibility for my sports.

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS?:

I lead a team every year at the Puget Sound AHA Heart Walk to raise money for heart disease research. I also love working with younger kids and volunteer assisting teaching Sunday School and as a Program Aide at Girl Scout Camp with K-1 kids. I’m working on a project right now collecting children’s shoes for kids in need in my community.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART ABOUT BEING A CHEERFIT AMBASSADOR?

I like the exercises and daily motivation.

WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO TELL OTHER PEOPLE WHO WANT TO BECOME A CHEERFIT AMBASSADOR?

It is a great way to inspire you to work daily on improving your fitness to reach your goals.

I have been a competitive cheerleader for four years now. cheerleading is my passion. It isn’t always easy though, I went through a five month period that I thought I was done cheering, I was burnt out, tired, and I felt like I wasn’t good enough. Thats when I found the gym that I am in now. I have the best coaches that believe in me and inspire me to be the best I can be everyday.

I love to help out with out community service program at the gym called Soco Serves. We do walks and donations and whatever the community needs we try to help out.

I have always done competitive cheer and played on a competitive softball team all while keeping straight A’s at school and making the  honor roll.

CAN YOU SHARE WITH US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOUR JOURNEY AND HOW YOU GOT TO WHERE YOU ARE TODAY?

My name is Julieanna Luzunaris and I am twelve years. I have been cheering for three years and I currently cheer with Infinity All Stars in Jacksonville Beach, FL. I am on Senior Supremes which is a Senior 2 Team and Royal Divas which is a Junior 3 Team. Prior to cheer I studied Karate for five years and earned a black belt. I am currently working on my punch front and my standing and running tuck. I had a setback last year when I broke my leg one week prior to our 1st competition. I have overcome six weeks in a wheel chair, three weeks in a walking cast, and three weeks in a walking boot.

I also had to do physical therapy for three months. All of these setbacks have not stopped me from cheering and I continue to work hard to achieve my goals. When I am not at cheer I take violin lessons and I volunteer in my churches nursery. I help take care of the babies while their parents are at the church service. I also like to hang out with friends and like to listen to music. Fitness is an important part of cheer and life in general. I have to maintain a fit and healthy body in order to cheer and also to avoid injuries.

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS?:

Some of my accomplishments are that I’ve gone to The Summit many times and placed in the Top 7. Just last weekend I won my first competition this season. I also have won state and many national championship titles!

HOW HAS BEING AN AMBASSADOR HELPED YOU REACH YOUR GOALS?

Being a CHEERFIT Ambassador helped me in so many ways, some of them are getting fit, building confidence, reach new skills, new stunts and also becoming a better leader each and everyday!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART ABOUT BEING A CHEERFIT AMBASSADOR?

My favorite part of being a CHEERFIT Ambassador is that I like to share with my friends about how fun this is, having every single one of the people in my cheer life.

I would like to tell others that this program is so much fun and that the other ambassadors will always support you and help you out if you need it!

Fitness is very important to me because it helps me stay in shape and I will grow up to live a long healthy life. Every morning I wake up with my father and my twin brother and we go for a 1.5 mile run before I get ready for school. I can’t thank my father enough for instilling this in me at such a young age, it is something that I will continue for the rest of life.

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS?:

In the state of Nevada we take a reading and math test, to determine where we are. The base score for all students was 130 and my score was 145. I take school very seriously. Without an education, you have nothing.

HOW HAS BEING AN AMBASSADOR HELPED YOU REACH YOUR GOALS?

Although I am only 5 years old, I volunteer in my community by helping my parents feed the homeless once a month. I also donate all my old toys, shoes, and clothes to the woman’s shelter so other kids can have nice things as well.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART ABOUT BEING A CHEERFIT AMBASSADOR?

Although I am new, I have followed the CHEERFIT page for a while with my mother. It has helped me learn and reach skills that I have seen. It has also made me feel really good about the things that I do and to not be scared.

WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO TELL OTHER PEOPLE WHO WANT TO BECOME A CHEERFIT AMBASSADOR?
