CAN YOU SHARE WITH US A TIME YOU SAW SOMEONE BEING BULLIED AND HOW IT MADE YOU FEEL? 

I saw a kid in my class get bullied because he has a cochlear implant. They were making fun of him and calling him names at recess. It made me feel very sad that they were making fun of him. I told the teacher and we had a lesson about how we’re all made different and that’s what makes us unique. My teacher said we should uplift and support our classmates, not bring them down.

WHAT IS THE BEST ADVICE YOU CAN GIVE TO SOMEONE WHO IS BEING BULLIED?

Don’t let them get you down – what they’re saying isn’t true. Jesus loves you and you are so special. Be the bigger person and show whoever is bullying you, how being treated nicely feels. Bullies need love too. If the problem gets worse, tell a teacher or an adult who can help you!

HOW DO YOU MOTIVATE AND SUPPORT YOUR FAMILY, FRIENDS AND TEAMMATES?

l support my family by helping in any way that I can: I do my chores, I play with my brothers, I keep my grades up and I always remind them how special they are to me and how much I love them!! I support my friends and teammates by complimenting them, cheering them on and encouraging them to go the extra mile when they’re trying to reach new goals! I love to motivate my teammates and friends to be the best version of themselves. When you focus on being stronger, inspiring others, living healthier and being a leader – it brings out the best in people and encourages them to do the same. 

HOW HAS BEING A CHEERFIT AMBASSADOR HELPED YOU?

Being a part of the CHEERFIT family has impacted my life in so many ways. I’ve gained confidence in myself to try new sports because I feel so strong. I’m getting better in the gym by staying focused on my form and using the workouts y’all send me to strengthen my body! Being a CHEERFIT Ambassador has encouraged me to live a healthier lifestyle by eating clean and working out daily.

CAN YOU SHARE WITH US A TIME YOU FELT BULLIED AND HOW IT MADE YOU FEEL? 

Last school year I was bullied by a girl in my class. I never understood why she bullied me, but she would hit me and call me names in front of everyone in my class.This made me suffer from anxiety and I was afraid to tell anyone because I didn’t want to get teased for telling. It lasted almost the whole school year until I finally spoke up and told my mom and she handled it privately with my school principal.

WHAT IS THE BEST ADVICE YOU CAN GIVE TO SOMEONE WHO IS BEING BULLIED?

Being a CHEERFIT ambassador I’ve learned to be strong mentally – so the best advice I would give someone is to never let someone bully you to the point were you’re so afraid to speak up. Always report bullying no matter what others may think of you!

HOW DO YOU MOTIVATE AND SUPPORT YOUR FAMILY, FRIENDS AND TEAMMATES?

l motivate and support my family, friends and teammates by maintaining a positive environment and cheering them on even if they are having a rough day.

CAN YOU SHARE WITH US A TIME YOU FELT BULLIED AND HOW IT MADE YOU FEEL? 

Throughout elementary and middle school my classmates spread their personal thoughts about me and my character to others. Their words hurt me and at first I was distraught and felt worthless.

As a young child, I didn’t understand why my “friends” would want me to feel this way – as I got older, I realized that kids often bully others because they are insecure about themselves and believe making someone else feel underserving will make them secure in their own character.


If you ever experience someone else being bullied, keep in mind just how important it is to stand up for them and let them know you are there to support them.


This can make all the difference to a person who is going through a tough time. I know first hand how terrible it feels to be bullied and want everyone who is going through a similar situation to know that there are people on your side to help you.

WHAT IS THE BEST ADVICE YOU CAN GIVE TO SOMEONE WHO IS BEING BULLIED?

Some advice I want to give to those who have been bullied is to always stand up for what you believe in. Never ever change yourself to please others. Everyone has special qualities that make them unique . . . if everyone was the same, the world would be a very boring place! 

 

HOW DO YOU MOTIVATE AND SUPPORT YOUR FAMILY, FRIENDS AND TEAMMATES?

I motivate and support my family, friends and teammates by understanding the situations they are going through and keeping a positive attitude in everything I do! I have learned that when I keep a positive outlook, it spreads to others and sends good vibes all around! 

 

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS?

I love that I passed the 1st grade and that I made it to level 1 in gymnastics. I’m working very hard to be the best person and cheerleader I can be and I accomplished that and I’m so proud of myself!

I did not fit in with the kids in my year at school. One of the girls told everyone not to talk to me or be my friend – this made me feel lonely and sad.

Talk to someone . . .a teacher, family or an older friend – someone you trust. It’s also not your fault.

Encouragement and support – we are all different and we should embrace individuality. We are all special in our own way!

It has given me the confidence to know what I am doing is best for me, and that I am worth it. I may not be friends with that person that was mean to me, but I have so much more. I have a global network of friends that share the same passion as i do.

Last year I was questioned why my dad was black and why I didn’t have straight hair!!! I wasn’t upset about my dad, but I wanted to know why I was different? I kept asking my mom if I could straighten my hair and dye it blonde – I felt like something was wrong with me.

The best advice I can give to someone that is being bullied is remember we are all different, and that’s OK! It’s what makes us all unique and special . . .and also, tell someone!

You are not alone, and together we can fight it!

l motivate my friends and family by telling them “be the best you can be! If you believe it, you can achieve it!”

Being a CHEERFIT ambassador has allowed me to meet people who are very encouraging and supportive. It has given me confidence to push forward with things when I feel they may be too hard.

CAN YOU SHARE WITH US A TIME YOU FELT BULLIED AND HOW IT MADE YOU FEEL? 

I was in the first grade last year and I was bullied by classmates and my teacher and it made me sad because your teacher is supposed to help you and make you feel safe, and that wasn’t the case.

It got so bad that I got injured on the playground – a student hit me in the head with a swing and nobody did anything about it. . . not the principal, assistant principal or my teacher, and that hurt my feelings because I was a very new student and that hurt a lot.


Now I’m in the 2nd grade and I have a new and nicer teacher who doesn’t tolerate bullying.


Even though I was bullied the first day of school after my parents talked to the teacher, it doesn’t happen anymore which makes me happy!

WHAT IS THE BEST ADVICE YOU CAN GIVE TO SOMEONE WHO IS BEING BULLIED?

If you are getting bullied, tell your parents and don’t wait and be quiet because otherwise nothing will be done about it! So tell your parents and your teacher and talk about what’s going on and it will be so much better – you will feel better about it!

HOW DO YOU MOTIVATE AND SUPPORT YOUR FAMILY, FRIENDS AND TEAMMATES?

l like be there for my family and teammates and if they need to talk, I’m here for them. If they have something important to them, I’m there to show my support!
