As your cheerFIT Ambassador and current cheerleader for Hofstra University, I wanted to share some of my favorite fit tips to help you stay FIT and in cheer shape all summer long!
#1 Thing To Do This Summer: Create a goal for each week- then keep track of your goals accomplished to help achieve your results- Work on old stunts and try to get new skills.
The summer is a tough time to stay in your best cheer shape! Staying conditioned throughout the summer will only help you when your team is preparing for camp.
Fit Tip #1: If your team is only practicing once a week, try to get together with a stunt group to work on staying consistent with old skills.
Make sure you have a spotter while stunting and are on grass or a matt! If your coach is not around when you are getting some extra practice in, only work on perfecting your old skills. If you are perfecting old skills, once practice time comes you can focus on working achieving new skills for camp.
Fit Tip #2: Create a personal goal and a stunt group goal each week!
The first person to reach there personal goal can decide what exercise the other girls in the stunt group have to complete at the end of a practice. The first group on your team to complete the stunt group goal can decide what exercise the team completes after a practice. This is a great way to incorporate friendly competition while staying conditioned and reaching goals!
Fit Tip #3: The beach is always a fun place to show off your solid skills. Get together with a stunt group and have fun summer fun while still working on consistency and progress.
Remember, the beach has plenty of people so you will only benefit from performing skills in front of a crowd! Post your pictures stunting on the beach and tag @cheefittraining on Instagram.
